Mike Morucci, Class of 1976, played football during his career at Central Columbia. In football Mike became Central Columbia's first 1,000 yard rusher, rushing for 1,205 yards his senior year. Mike lead the Susquehanna Valley Conference in scoring with 120 points. He was named to the All Susquehanna Valley Conference First Team and named Conference Back of the Year. He also was named All Anthracite First Team, and Honorable Mention All-State as a running back.

Mike went on to play for Bloomsburg University, setting sixteen individual records. He was a four-time First Team, All-PSAC, named ECAC Player of the Year in 1979, along with being named a Little & Kodak All-American. That year he finished fifth in the nation in rushing. Mike finished his career with 3,535 yards.

He was drafted in the seventh round by the New Orleans Saints and was placed on injured reserve, was picked up by the Miami Dolphins and ended his career with a knee injury. Mike is currently employed by Geisinger Health Plan as Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. He and his wife Beth have two daughters, Nicole and Kayla. Mike currently lives in Sherwood Village.
