Robert Rohm

Teacher, Coach


Bob Rohm was a successful football coach at Central for 14 seasons and compiled a 95-63-6 mark. He also coached at Bloomsburg High School for six years and was an assistant coach for the Bloomsburg University football team for four seasons. While coaching the Blue Jays, Rohm's teams won the three Susquehanna Conference championships, two Central Susquehanna Valley Conference championships, five Eastern Conference Division championships, and in 1981 the Eastern Conference Class C championship. The long-time coach also assisted Central's wrestling team for ten years.

After graduating in 1956 from Muncy High School, where Rohm earned 12 varsity letters in football, wrestling, and baseball, he attended Bloomsburg State College and graduated in 1960. Rohm won 12 more varsity letters and is a member of the school's Sports Hall of Fame. He was a PSAC football and baseball all-star and a two-time PSAC wrestling champion. He highlighted his career when he captured a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics wrestling crown as a 157-pound senior. Rohm later earned a masters degree from Bloomsburg state College. In addition to coaching after college, he taught social studies at Montgomery, Bloomsburg and Central Columbia. Sadly Rob passed away in 1994, surviving are his widow, Kathy, and six children.
