Sharon Beagle Ahearn played both basketball and softball during her career at Central Columbia. In basketball she was a member of the 1972-1974 Columbia County League & District IV Championship teams. She lead the team in scoring her senior year. In softball she was a member of the 1972-1974 Columbia County League championship teams. The 1973 and 1974 softball teams were undefeated, and the basketball teams lost just one game each season. During her senior year Sharon was selected the Most Athletic Female, received the Extracurricular Activity award and was Senior Class Honor Student.

Sharon graduated in 1978 from Penn State University, where she played tennis and basketball. She later earned a masters degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts. Sharon coached high school softball and basketball (1981-84), was an Assistant Women's basketball coach at Amherst College (1979-80), was the YMCA Executive Director in Richmond, VA. (1984-1989), and headed the Women's tennis program at Mount St. Mary College (1997-1998). She is currently the Associate Vice President for Health Professions at Orange Community College in Middletown, N.Y. Sharon is married to Dan Ahearn and the couple resides in Milford, PA.
