Steve Bright played tennis and basketball during his career at Central Columbia. In basketball he was a Susquehanna Valley League All Star his junior and senior years, an All-Anthracite All Star his senior year, and was All State his senior year. Steve is the boy's basketball all-time leading scorer with 1,546 points and he also grabbed 1,013 rebounds in his career. He led the 1973 team to the District IV championship.

Steve went on to graduate from Bloomsburg State College, lettering in basketball all four years. He was a Co-Captain his senior year and scored 1,017 points and had 621 rebounds during his career. He and his wife, Judy, have four children, Justin, Ashley, Matthew, and Kevin. They currently live in Gotha, Florida.
