Duane Powlus was three-year varsity wrestler. During Duane's sophomore year his record was 16 and 2, with 7 pins. During his junior year his record was 17 and 1, with 13 pins. During his senior year his record was 27 and 2, with 11 pins. Duane was a three-time Columbia County Christmas Tournament champion. During Duane's senior year he was a sectional champion, district runner up, and a state qualifier. He was a Susquehanna Valley Conference 1st team all star, an Anthracite 1st team all star, and he was selected one of the top 100 wrestlers in the state his senior year. He was also selected to the Central Pennsylvania all star team which wrestled an Ohio State all star team. Duane was one of only three Pennsylvania wrestlers to win.

Duane currently works as a foreman for Knowlton & Sons Masonry out of Scranton. Duane still lives in the Bloomsburg area.
