Carol Rakich, Class of 1987, was a three sport athlete, playing field hockey, basketball, and softball. Carol was a member of the 1985 Columbia County League and District IV Championship Field Hockey Team. In field hockey, she earned a selection to the Columbia County League All Star Team in 1984, 85, and 86. She also was named Press Enterprise Athlete of the Week in 1985. In basketball, Carol was on the Columbia County League All Star Team in 1987 and the West Snyder All-Tournament Team. Carol was a part of the 1984, 85, and 86 District IV Championship Softball Team and the Columbia County League Championship team in 1986. Individually in softball, Carol made the State College All-Tournament Team and the Columbia County League All Star Team in 1985, 86, and 87. In 1987, she was named Central Columbia's Female Athlete of the Year. After graduating from Central Columbia High School, she attended East Stroudsburg University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitative Services and was a member of the women's field hockey and softball teams for four years and basketball and lacrosse teams each for a year. In field hockey, she was named All PSAC (1st team) in 1989 and 1990 and All American in 1990. In 1990, she was named All Academic American and received the coach's award. Currently, Carol works for DEC in Norristown, PA for the past 17 years, providing services to adults with intellectual disabilities, as the Quality Enhancement Director.
