Ninth grade Honors English is designed to meet the needs of the student who has demonstrated superior ability in language arts and may take AP English Literature and Composition. The pace of the course is geared to the student who reads and writes well. Areas of study include vocabulary, grammar, composition, and literature. Entry requirements include a final grade of 93% or higher in 8th grade English and passing a placement exam.  Retention in the Honors program requires a final grade in any Honors English course of 87% or higher.
