The Video Production course is designed to help students in the understanding, preparation, and presentation of video “packages” used in the film/television industry. Its aim is to show students how to use video to send effective messages. Using both conceptual learning and skills development, students learn the tools, techniques, and terminology of video production by producing field production “packages,” some of which may be used in video contests and/or promotional video for community organizations such as the United Way. In addition, students examine the growth of television/film technology and its effect on viewing habits as well as discuss the range of career opportunities in the television/film industry.
