503 BASIC FOODS

COURSE DESCRIPTION

0.5 CREDIT
In this course, students will learn basic food preparation techniques that will be useful in making a wide variety of foods. Here, we will practice preparing dishes that will become favorites for years to come, whether living independently or within a family setting. MyPlate will be the basis for the study of nutrition. The food groups represented on the plate will be studied in depth with preparations completed in each area. Clean up procedures will be part of the curriculum.

OLD POWER POINT LINKS

I typically present course content through Nearpod, which is almost identical to Power Point but much more interactive for classroom use.  Prior to using Nearpod, I did use Power Points, which I've included links for here:

CONNECTING TO NEARPOD

I have the ability to provide you with 'Student Paced' join codes for the units taught in Basic Foods.  However, I am not posting the join codes on my teacher webpage, because of two reasons:

1) if I make the tiniest edit, the join code will not work on the reivised presentation

2) the code will only last for 29 days from the time the code is generated.

So... to be able to view the Nearpod, you must attend class where it will be shared with you in real time regardless of attending school face to face or remotely.

REMOTE LEARNERS:

THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANY REMOTE LEARNERS THIS YEAR.
