This course is designed to investigate social situations that are very relevant to a student’s future. The content of the course includes the following outline: the relationship between science, technology, and society; the methodology of determining future scenarios; the investigation of various authors’ view of the past and future endeavors; the study of poverty & homelessness; gerontology & the death and dying process; the family (structure, function, trends, divorce, preparation, etc.); varied subcultures; analysis of political, economic & societal changes and the student’s role in an increasing global society. There is a substantial amount of reading & writing in the course.
