Central Columbia Young Agriculture Women Attend County Conference

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Penn State Cooperative Extension Service joined forces to hold the first Young Women in Agriculture Conference at the Columbia County Ag Center on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. The students attended numerous workshops that were led by professional women in the field of agriculture from vet science to food science. Speakers presented numerous career pathway options and spoke about the importance of females in the field of agriculture and the possibilities that exist for long term careers. Students then traveled to a local organic farm where they learned about organic production.
