On Friday, October 5, 2018; students of the Environmental Science course conducted a laboratory activity on the grading of different types of maple syrup. As students have been studying within the Forestry Section of the course they have learned about valuable by-products associated with the forest industry in Pennsylvania. Here Trent Kaiser (11th grade) examines the clarity of a syrup sample under the microscope during the syrup lab activity. Josh Reifer and Trae Devlin work to evaluate different types of syrup during the lab in Environmental Science. Here Codi Young (12th grade) conducts an visual observation of a sample of maple syrup and records her findings.
