1982 Track Girls

Track Team


The 1982 Girls Track Team coached by Joe Kelly was the first track team to win a district championship in Central Columbia history. The track team completed the year with a 12-0 record. On June 1, the team won districts. The 3200 meter relay team, Laurie Curtis, Lisa Neiderhiser, and Autumn Kemler all won District medals. Kim Karnes finished third in the triple jump, third in the 400 and ran in two relays. Barb Boyer, Lisa Shultz, and Amy Cole also picked up points.

The team members were Meredith Cleaver, Autumn Kemler, Kathy Kitta, Lori Mowery, Lisa Neiderhiser, Diann Rupert, Kristi Shaffer, Becky Walker, Laurinda Curtis, Barbara Davis, Jean Dobson, Mary Ann Horn, Kimberly Karns, Melanie Mills, Lisa Shultz, Melinda Swank, Vicki Bittner, Michelle Hinds, Catherine Stroud, Barbara Boyer, Amy Cole, Stacy Moyle, Jodi Parcell, and Carolyn Price.
